Enough Is Enough

Friends, this blog was very difficult for me to write. But it needed to be done. This is dedicated to all sexual assault survivors. Enough is enough! Whether the abuse is a slight rude comment, or blatten aggressive horrific rape, or an Olympic Doctor whose secrets have been guarded, or a Hollywood Agent, or Movie Director wanting you to drag you to their “casting couch”, TIMES UP! And time has been up! Girls and boys are killing themselves because they have been sexually abused. Teenagers are turning inwards, silently suffering because of their injustice. This is not my pity party, this is just my story. I too was sexually abused during my childhood, my teenage years, and even as a adult. Sexual assault takes years, if not a lifetime to heal from. Dont be scared to tell someone else you need help!

With the entire media circuit, and news outlets focusing on the scandals of Hollywood with the sexual abuse, it was time that I came out and shared my story.
In this industry, I have been abuse, mentally, emotionally and yes sexually. Even at the tender age of 8 years old I was sexually abused by a close family member. It was the scariest time of my life. And when I told another family member, they thought I was lying. Can you imagine how alone and afraid I felt?
Fast forward to my teenage years, and another situation scared me like no other during college. And even after I became a mom. Im so grateful that we are speaking up and out to end this sexual abuse that has gone on for years.
This is a human issue. Not a Hollywood issue, not an actress thing, but a human thing!
And its times we speak up and out.
From a very young age, girls are taught to not speak up and speak out. But to be quiet and be nice, and “play nice”. Well enough is enough. And its time that we band together and stick together. May my story help others to come out, and share their #MeToo story. As a mom, I always tell my sons that if anyone touches them in a bad manner that makes them feel uncomfortable to tell me because I will go NUTS!
Hell hath no fury like a person who has been abused, and who has the power of social media account, to get her story out and share her pain so they may find their peace.  The healing starts now, and the pain stops TODAY!
