As a top wellness coach with close to 20 years of experience, I have found the top ways to create a holistic at-home wellness program that will help you crush your goals even amidst the Corona Virus pandemic.
MINDFUL MOVEMENT: In order to keep one’s immune system functioning at its peak level, one must engage in mindful movement, blending in motivation, strength, cardio, and flexibility. This is why I created my own VIP workout method that will help you fuse all of these aspects together in one fluid, fun, yet challenging at-home workout. Aim at 4-6 workouts per week for max results.
CONNECTION & COMMUNITY: In a world where social distancing is the new socializing, I have found that community and staying connected is essential. Having an online community where the culture is one of support, encouragement, and sharing is nurtured, one can still enjoy all the benefits of socializing, while taking out all of the health risks.
FOOD & NUTRITION: While at home during the quarantine, one can fall into an unhealthy trap of eating processed junk food & mindlessly munching all day on prepackaged crunchy or overly sugared snacks. Make it a point to eat fresh fruits, vegetables and enjoy your own “spa-detox-water” at home. Set yourself up for success by stocking your home once a week with dark leafy greens, superfoods such as blueberries, & lean sources of protein like egg whites, grilled chicken or fish. Whole grain & slow-burning complex carbs such as brown rice, whole grain pasta, tortillas, or oatmeal are also a great way to keep your tummy full, energy high, and eating out of boredom at bay.
ACCOUNTABILITY MADE FUN: Feeling sluggish? Bored? Living in your pajamas? Not good! One way to nix all of the mediocrity of isolation is to engage in fun group challenges. These can be done online as a group, where one feels a part of something bigger, even if you are just at home. Seeing other women engage in the challenge, with a coach to hold all accountable is a great way to still crush your goals, keep your eye on the prize and to never give up on your wellness dreams.
LOG ON AND LEARN: Masterclasses online and live demo clinics are a fabulous way to learn and grow during your “staycation”. Swap binge-watching any sitcoms with an encouraging program that helps you to learn a new wellness habit teaches you how to put more care into your self-care rituals, and to develop a new understanding of your mind, body & spirit connections.
POWER TALKS & MENTAL TOUGHNESS TIPS: One of the essential parts of my online coaching is the power talks, or as I call them “Jolts of JNL”. These “tough love” episodes are the foundation of all success. Once you master your mind and end all negative self-talk, and as I say “flip it” into positive self-talk, you are destined for great success. Mental toughness is a personal quality that I find is wildly overlooked. When you are mentally weak, you will crumble emotionally and it can only be a downward spiral from there. This can lead to emotional eating, lashing out, unstable emotions, plus negative energy in all areas of your life. Learning how to get mentally tough during tough times will be your life-line to the other side. Remember, tough times don’t last, but tough people do!

These little self-love practices will make you feel so much better by boosting your beauty, thus boosting your positive mood.
